Due to the range of factors that influence fuel usage in a large fleet such as First’s, the company is working hard to improve the collection, monitoring and measuring of data associated with fuel usage on its bus and rail fleets. Specifically, First has increased the amount and type of data collected to include vehicle speed, route, number of passengers, and driving technique.
