Why it was created

ways2work raises the profile of arguably the least understood of all areas of corporate responsibility – the impacts of how we work and how we go about our work.

Many organisations are very responsible and are already significantly reducing their impacts. Yet even amongst these businesses, few have got to grips with the costs and the effects on people, organisations and the environment of our daily working lives.

Despite the strident technological and social networking advances of the past decade, we are generally going about our business as we did years ago. In this 24:7 interconnected world the majority of workers still work fairly traditional hours in traditional patterns often with long commutes. Trains are packed and roads congested at peak periods.

It doesn’t have to be like this.
